What is Newark Festival?

Newark Festival returns in 2018 for another colourful weekend of fun and entertainment. This latest edition of Newark’s most popular event, now in its eighth year, will see a host of acts take to the stage as we bring you a spectacular array of music to appeal to all tastes. Once again we will transform Riverside Park into the ultimate festival experience, with Newark Castle providing a stunning backdrop.

If you are a business and would like to Sponsor Newark Festival we have different levels of sponsorship opportunities available, each providing an excellent platform of exposure to our broad database of festival-goers. If you would like to convey your message/services to a broad audience, then Newark Festival offers an unrivalled opportunity to make yourselves heard.

Is the Festival outside?

Yes, the festival is outside and there will be no covering. Whatever the weather Newark Festival is here to lighten up your weekend so be sure to still come along but please do dress for the weather accordingly.

What time do gates and the Box Office open?

Information on gate opening times and the operational hours for the box office will be communicated nearer to the festival date through the Newark Festival website. Please keep an eye out for our e-shots and social media which will also keep you up to date with essential information.

Can I smoke in the Festival?

Yes, but please respect other festival-goers by only smoking at the designated smoking points, which are clearly marked.

Am I allowed to bring food and drink into the Festival?

No food, bottles, cans or cardboard container drinks are allowed on the festival site – but don’t worry; there are plenty of food outlets within the festival site and you will find something for all tastes to enjoy.

Strictly no glass is allowed on the festival site

Alcohol is also not permitted. There will be a bar available to purchase alcohol. Anyone who appears to be under 25 will be asked to present a valid form of ID when purchasing alcohol.

If you have special dietary requirements, we completely understand that the festival provisions may not be compatible, so please visit our Box Office at the entrance to the grounds before entering. All drinks must be sealed or in a clear through container.

Can I bring my chair?

If you are wishing to bring folding chairs and blankets these will be only permitted in the designated picnic area, which will be clearly signposted, and access to this will be strictly available to those who hold a Chair Ticket. You can purchase a Chair Ticket via the Newark Festival website, and these are sold on a first come first served basis with a very limited amount. We would recommend early purchase to avoid disappointment.

Any form of gazebos and tents are strictly prohibited, and we reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone carrying these items.

General tickets are standing only

Can I re-enter the Festival site?

No re-admission is allowed on Friday 16 June Riverside Rocks. Once you have gone through the ticket gates please ensure you have everything you need with you. There are sufficient toilet, bar and food provisions within the site.

On Saturday 17 June re-admission is allowed and you will be provided with accreditation to do so.

What time are the acts on?

Times are still to be confirmed and will be released closer to the festival date. If you have purchased a ticket we will email you when they have been confirmed. Please keep an eye on the Newark Festival website and social media for updates.

Can I apply to play at Newark Festival?

Both Friday and Saturday acts have already been confirmed however we are always on the look-out for great new talent locally, and if you are a local band interested in performing at the Family Fun Day on the Sunday of the festival weekend, then please fill out the Contact Us form.

What is a Premier Enclosure Ticket?

A Premier Enclosure ticket includes a host of special benefits for the ultimate VIP festival experience. For further information please see the Premier Enclosure section of the Newark Festival website.

Do I need to buy my child a ticket?

Yes, if they are 16 or under, you can purchase a discounted Child Ticket. If your child is younger than five they are entitled to free admission with an Adult Ticket.

Can I buy tickets on the day?

Absolutely – subject to availability. The festival is growing in popularity with 2017 our busiest year yet. We expect to see an even greater response in 2018 so if you can buy beforehand we would highly recommend you do so, to avoid any disappointment.

Are Accessible Tickets available?

Accessible Tickets can only be purchased directly from Newark Town Council, which is located in the Butter Market at the market square. An Accessible Ticket is sold at full price and allows you to bring along a carer free of charge.

Accessible parking passes are also available from Newark Town Council.

Do you have provisions for disabled people?

We have accessible toilets and parking, so access is easier. For an accessible parking pass please enquire when purchasing a ticket at Newark Town Council. If you have purchased an Accessible Ticket, then this gives you access to the disabled viewing platform and you will be guided by stewards on the day.

When will I receive my ticket?

If you have purchased any tickets through the Newark Festival website (Eventbrite), these are print at home tickets. Please check your e-mail inboxes and ensure that your e-mail address is correct when purchasing tickets. If you haven’t received a confirmation e-mail please contact us using the Contact Us form.

If you have bought your tickets from a ticket agent, you will need to contact the ticketing operator you ordered with, and they will instruct you on what to do next. Tickets are usually delivered two weeks before the event and sometimes if you have purchased only a few days before the event they will be at the Box Office for you for collection.

Can I sleep at the festival?

There is nowhere for you to sleep overnight on the festival site. Visit here for information on staying in Newark
